apadravya worship ~ {xi}

{iii}
i read the seams of your failed
self-immolation
& threaded a lash through the eye of a needle
to embroider a musallah in
the loom of your scars.
I found the eastern horizon in
the mihrab that stretched between your ribs,
in the nexus of raised tissue & ink
like a neglected holy book.

{ii}
there was a systematic awakening of my
inactive consciousness,
a molecular stirring to automation
& i felt
the moment's potential, the pulse of kismet
vital & necessary beneath my bare soles.
the bells stirred in attrition/contrition,
cell memories of forgotten asanas
roused to fluidity again.

{i}
i parted my lips & birthed
a thousand headed naga
to devour an incarnation
i could no longer bear
& ate at my own face
through one death
& into another.
