Concealed Oceans

You and I are star-crossed
lovers. Deny any truth to what really goes on
behind closed doors. We speak of never-ending
hopes and dreams that keeps us
going through life. We need each other
to understand that this won't last
forever. You inspire me to love
my skin. You touch slightly
on my chest. Caress my heart-shaped
special rings.

You stripped me bare
naked and afraid. My soul, to you,
tainted by passed lovers. You clean
your sheets when we finish. My scented
candles put out and put away. Hiding feelings
that could burn us both. This love,
for our passion manifest when we're skin to skin. Toxic
kisses as we slowly poison each other. With each other,
we laugh at our insiders.

Secrets we hold. In our souls
sin lingers. Where we do our deeds,
no one knows. Your love
for my body shows when we're alone. Nowhere else
will I speak your name in need. No
more running away from you. I trip
in my own words. I find love
to be elusive. I choose
to be alone. I don't want
to stop feeling you in ways she doesn't

I fell into your oceans
waves crash like our bodies
as you tell me you love
the way I am

loving you.

This poem can be read two different ways. Sentence by sentence or line by line. Interpretation is completely up to you but I will clarify if needed. This is one of my favorite poems because of its syntax.
