Neither Here Nor There

       
I entered into heaven
for a taste of you
you weren't there
     
so I crashed the gates of hell
to burn inside your embrace
inside of a feeling so rare
     
into the very bowels   
I sought you
     
I supped with the Devil
who with much fanfare   
displayed his minions
his thoughts were to seduce
      
he desired to keep me
I could not be swayed
so with a humph Lucifer answered
     
"I've heard of this man
but he's not here"
     
"go to the portal of neither here nor there
there you will find the beast
that commands your heart's passions "
     
I traveled my soul's journey
looking for entry   
into this sacred place of love
but came up empty
     
so I sought to numb my urge
with drink and drug
I then tumbled violently
into the limbo of this feeling
     
I found you to be king
of this fated collision   
and lust journey
     
you call to us mortals
within our deepest passions
giving us a taste of love
then take it from us
     
till in despair we sedate the love
that keeps us reeling
making us slaves   
to this dreadful place
of feeling nothing really
     
inside your Sadistic greed
we play out our lost loves    
from memory
     
we now serve as muse    
to those wandering in innocence
their hearts open
they crash into our hunger
     
we a beacon   
for fulfilled lust
never to materialize
