Crossroads

I don't know what the point of love is
It seems like an endless road of empty gas stations
on a hill that goes down forever
I can't turn around
because there's no gas left
in the pumps
to go back up the hill
and as long as I keep going down
There is somewhere to go
Otherwise I may as well pull over
for good
It's too far to walk back
and
I've already been where the road came from
so what's the point?
If only someone else was traveling the same road
I could hitch a ride and the loneliness would end

So here I am, at a crossroads in my life
at the same time you are at one in yours
I only wish that our roads were crossing a path
that went in the same direction
