For Every Right

Staring at the night sky
focussed on
The Southern Cross
imagining the lines
between the bright stars
leading some kind
of direction

It's been
ten, really long years
since the monumental
surprises that
lead to life
lived
on the wrong side of
any track
of goodness
and happiness

It's been one step, forward
five
steps back
and the backwards
have hurt
to no possible repair
or life supporting
goodness

For every life
three deaths
for every love
four hates
for every Rand made
five Dollars taken
for every Pound lost
six Kilograms gained

For every right
we've lost
eight wrongs

A rope won't help
the nuse
will break
the landscape
will soften the fall
But there are days
when
the thought of another
yesterday
today
played
tomorrow
are
well frankly
just
unbearable

Author's Note
I have poems that I wrote for GloPoWriMo that I chose not to publish. Some are rubbish, some are okay. I'm just letting them breath on the page this week.
