Prayer Technique With Sister Virtue
I close my lids
and clasp hands together.
I envision you in every prayer,
on waking and retiring.
I fought the beliefs
pummeled into me
before the intellectual mind
could question
the judgements placed
on just about everything.
I arrived in the temple
with a cardboard box of shards,
having no knowledge
how to put them back in place.
In the self-destruction,
you delicately led me
to your private chamber
to discuss this in further detail.
In your wisdom,
and receptive ear,
you knew exactly
how to tackle the matter.
You were ultra confident
that if I were to follow your lead,
I would feel the tangible proof
and never question any of this again.
After several sessions
and in textures of the highest order,
"if doubt should ever creep in", you warned
"let this be your guide".
