There was a time when I didn’t know you
When days passed into nights
With no comfort
No joy
My life listless and dull …painfully so
 
You changed all that
With few words

How do I thank someone for giving meaning to my life,
For lighting a candle in the darkness of my existence?
 
I know only this
Words on a page
Expressions of love
From one human being to another
 
 Here are those expressions
You are loved
Your light in my life will never dull
Never go out
 
When you have doubts
Cling to those who will
Wrap their arms around you
