I See You

To describe the hue of your eyes provided me a distinct challenge,
I answered you with a speed to cover,
The cacophony that blasted through my mind.
Your eyes, my dearest, could never,
Be expressed as a mere blue.
The colors shift through the opalescent,
Silver of those splendorous orbs,
Red of the passions yet to be expressed,
In more than a turn of phrase,
The envy of a person living a life,
Of ease and bliss passes in green,
Deep hurt hidden within an appearance,
As electric blue as any sky and hard as ice,
The black that flickers so quickly,
Behind it all - the hint of the void within,
There is no one single solid tint,
That could describe the tinge of your eyes,
Or what I have viewed deep within,
The twisted paths of your Wonderland,
Shade that sadness with brassy bravado,
A flippant remark rising from your lips with ease,
Cover your darkness with a courteous civility,
The polite veneer you wield as deftly as any blade,
People only glimpsing the surface of you,
Scratching at it like so many grasping branches,
Followers and schemers in adoration or spite,
For the facade that you so cleverly create,
The animalistic nature and pure raw possessiveness,
Blazoned across the screen for anyone,
Who ventures too close to what you claim,
Grace my ears with the comforting tones of your voice,
Call me that unique and devoted endearment again,
Entreating my heart to soar as I respond in kind,
The transparent and affectionate way you utter,
My true name - wrecks me down to my roots,
A name has Power, indeed.
Sharing those precious moments of hilarity,
Your laugh tripping my heart, bringing my own,
Praising what you admire in me eloquently,
I poke back to hide the way I glow from your regard,
Whispers and groans of desires spoken,
Ties my tongue into knots, words forgotten,
Hide my face to obscure the blush that you cannot see,
When you describe what your future plans are,
Sing to me, my hope, let your vocals carry me away with you,
Tell me in verse and chorus of your depth of feeling for me,
Of the warnings you give so often to shield my heart,
Can’t you see that it is already too late?
Far too late for such an attempt?
The deep well of your soul slowly,
Devours mine with a secretive seduction,
You alone control my flames with an effortless grace,
Observe to find the cracks in my raging temper,
A firm soft voice to guide me to the answers you seek,
Iron will bending me before your gaze,
A willing submission to the one who so earned it,
Gladly I surrender my all to your will.
You shy away from the intimacy,
You dread but so obviously crave with me,
Unsure of my motives, anxiety of venturing,
Further than what we have become,
Are apparent with your quick yet,
Astute skating around the subject,
Do what you need to feel secure, my heart,
I will abide in the silence of waiting,
Content in the knowledge of your return,
I would rather die a thousand deaths than to frighten you away.
Don’t let my adoration and devotion disconcert you,
Can’t you see that it comes from a place deeper than love?
It is broader then the oceans of desire that suffuses my being,
To put you first, to give you what you need,
To teach you to trust again, even if only in me,
Hide, my Mirhage.
I see you, Ashke.
