[I look to the east as the morning sun brightens]

i look to the east as the morning sun brightens
my eyes make-out blurry shadow on the horizon
the shadow looked larger than a bison
 it grew even bigger as it inched closer
then the shadow started to lighten
still unsure, i grew frightened
suddenly i realize wear i am
in the woods off a main road by my house
but how did I get here
quickly I remember the shadow
and notice it disappeared
cause the sun has set
the horizon now covered in night
the dark has caused a lack of sight
crouched down shivering with fright
what was a nice warm daylight
is now a chilly dark evening
hear the wolves howling in the distance
making the feeling of terror even worse
being scared reminded me of shadow figure
what happened to it?
did I imagine it?
maybe i stared at the sun too long
no i remembered what I saw
right at that moment
i hear some wolves running away scared
i peek over top of the bushes
there it is,
THE SHADOW FIGURE!  
except i can see it clear now
it’s even bigger than I thought
around 8 feet tall
weighs close to a ton
with razor claws
and tough scaly skin
i have no idea what it is
or what to do
i crouch back down into the bushes
in complete utter shock
my mind is racing
trying to figure out a plan
but i’ve got nothing
 no weapons to try and kill it
i can only attempt to escape
 only way to the main road is through the field
 it’s feasting on some dead wolves
right in the way my escape route
so i’ll have to wait it out
and that could be dangerous
i noticed it abruptly stops eating
i can hear it sniffing for something
Oh my god!!
it smells me
i don’t want to run away and let it see me
so i’ll sit and hope it is smelling something else
i can hear it making its way towards me
it’s footsteps sound louder than gun shots
its about 30 feet from me
I still hear it sniffing
looking for my scent
then out of nowhere
a national guard helicopter in the sky
it’s gonna save me
i jump out of the bushes with excitement
forgeting the beast was still right there
i take off into a sprint
but i underestimated its speed
i feel one of its claws rip into my back
as I fall to the ground
 the soldier hits the monster, with a tranquilizer
before it devoured me

I awake in the hospital
completely wrapped in bandages
happy to be alive
the nurse is waiting by my bed
also happy to see I’m alive
but says there’s bad news

the claw from the beast tore apart my spine
 i am now paralyzed from the neck down
