Wearing chinked armour
my protection
neglected to save me
from disconnection

faulty equipment
failed to safeguard
against my demons
abandoned and marred

attacks from within
potent distress
poisoning to exist
shameful regress

drowning not sorrows
but sadly my soul
spirit in peril
none could console

transformation painful
unravelling sense
unleashed emotions
feelings intense

difficult task ahead
void pretending
choices limited
adaptation pending

admittedly still broken
change an attraction
resolute willingness
taking action
