Railway Transit

Life's like a train ride to wherever..

Most times it gets you on time not because suddenly our railway transit became reliable but because you were prepared, you were ready, you woke up to the sound of your alarm and decided against feeling more of the comfort you get from sleeping on your bed.
You got the water heating for your body internally, externally. Turned the music up to pump you up even more. Showered, dressed, grab your things and set to leave.
Got your time right including having to go wait for a UV Express or jeep, seating in the never ending traffic 🚥. Finally you get to the station, skipped the queue for buying beep credits cause you had a good mind loading up on days off. Then in you go. Must be your lucky day seeing that people ain't tripping over each other to get in the next train.
Not a minute pass and you got into your ride fine and to your destination with more than enough time to walk the two blocks to your office building, hitch the bus or another jeepney trip to work.
Here you wish that most days is everyday. It would have been amazing. To wake up on time every working day and not miss your alarm, not having to wait for the UV Express that seems non existent when you need them the most, the traffic that you thought would only take an hour doubled due to some hot headed drivers trying to get ahead of each other.
You had to wait in line like that of a blockbuster movie queue. You just missed the train and then heard over the P.A. that there's a power interruption and it would take four-ever minutes to fix. It is during this time that you are close to feeling like its the end of the work day rather than the opposite.
Fuck right? To top it all off, you realize its a critical work day and can't call in sick because that's what you feel that very moment, Sick of the daily grimy grind. Having just served an NTE the other week for a no-show, calling in sick is a no-go. The next few minutes determines, you guessed it right. Your future. F U T U R E. Yes. Cause underneath all that pissed-offness and frustration that you feel, you know you have options. There's always A. bus, B. a cab or C. a Grab/Uber, there will be setbacks most definitely, time, energy, and money. Definitely money especially if you take option C during rush hour. But whether the tram completely gave up on you or got you halfway. The next move is almost always up to you...Life is like a train ride.
