Nostalgia is infectious, like a disease of whimsical fantasies  
that wisp through the mind  
leaving behind a faded reality.  
 
In that faded reality, the bad is gone,  
just as it fades with death - only the good remains.  
 
Colors change under different lights, as do people  
And self-preservation is vital to the health of your core being.  
 
There isn't anyone that should ever expect you  
to love them more than you love yourself, but they will.  
And chances are, they will provoke your inner desire for love -  
To give love and to receive it -  
Which is the foundation of all emotions.  
 
The high of the good is so good! It's addictive.  
You will feel like you are flying.  
You will feel unstoppable.  
You will feel free.  
Hold on to that feeling. Bask in it. Savor it.  
Remember every single detail of that unfathomed happiness.  
 
Then, acknowledge that nothing ever remains the same.  
There is a constant shift and rearranging of life.  
So remember the good.  
Then, when you are faced with the bad, you will come to know that too.  
 
The darkness will come, like day and night.  
When the shadows of night are cast, look for them.  
Acknowledge them. Do not be fearful of them.  
 
Change and growth are most cultivated during this time.  
When the darkness seems to embrace you, let it.  
Listen to what the shadows have to say.  
They will whisper to your intuition if you choose to lend an ear.  
 
You will hurt - tremendously.  
Your ability to accept life's transformations will be tested.  
But you will be okay.  
 
Did you hear that??  
 
You will be okay.  
 
In those moments of darkness, you will find clarity.  
You will grow - in mind and in spirit.  
You will be changed.  

But You are strong and you are wise.  
And you are light.  
Darkness will break away.  
And then you, my friend, will shine.
