The Caduceus
He smile is a ship on the horizon
A silhouette mocking the sun
Lilting and pregnant, caught
Between Heaven and Hell; coming
Or going, I don't know.
Flashes of light in a gale
Lanterns swinging on a mast
Violent tempest, fleeting
Shards of yellow fire, twisting
In the mist stare at me.
Billowing in a blackened mirror
Rippling canvas beats the air
Indignant shadows, loom
On the periphery, swirling
Clouds crown and cover Her.
Tendrils of emerald green
Fluttering in the current
Rising and falling, twist
Their silken ebbing cords about
My neck, pulling me down.
Ivory caresses
My forelorn trembling spirit
Against the panic, the
Rising tide of pale dread,
Holding me to the vapid ground.
A silhouette mocking the sun
Lilting and pregnant, caught
Between Heaven and Hell; coming
Or going, I don't know.
Flashes of light in a gale
Lanterns swinging on a mast
Violent tempest, fleeting
Shards of yellow fire, twisting
In the mist stare at me.
Billowing in a blackened mirror
Rippling canvas beats the air
Indignant shadows, loom
On the periphery, swirling
Clouds crown and cover Her.
Tendrils of emerald green
Fluttering in the current
Rising and falling, twist
Their silken ebbing cords about
My neck, pulling me down.
Ivory caresses
My forelorn trembling spirit
Against the panic, the
Rising tide of pale dread,
Holding me to the vapid ground.
