Passing Dust

My beautiful dog Ginger has been gone for a year
I miss her more each day
As I watch other's with their majestic hounds
I long for her traditions that carved my soul

Immdietetly people want to know if you'll get another
It's an honest question with no answer
The mourning period is a year
Ginger was my heart, I may need longer

It's Spring finally
Birds chirping in the early dawn
Optimism locks in even if you may not feel it
I'm opening my world, listening, contemplating
