i see said the bunny
on a cold sunday
bound naked in a basement filled with ache
just as the moon began its wink
its rays peering through the tiniest window
a shadow of two ears
cast their giant v-shaped wake across my flesh
i wiggle as if to break free and clear of its cast
yet it washes my taught helplessness
in a flickering convulsion
indifferent
as its owner seeks vegetative nightcaps
i, the animal
it, a wandering freedom
unconscious to the muffled moans
and pleas to be as free
roams happy and unknowing
it is not a hollow treat
bound naked in a basement filled with ache
just as the moon began its wink
its rays peering through the tiniest window
a shadow of two ears
cast their giant v-shaped wake across my flesh
i wiggle as if to break free and clear of its cast
yet it washes my taught helplessness
in a flickering convulsion
indifferent
as its owner seeks vegetative nightcaps
i, the animal
it, a wandering freedom
unconscious to the muffled moans
and pleas to be as free
roams happy and unknowing
it is not a hollow treat
