Ghost Girl a Go-Go

Old haunts, same creatures
You sat on a nightclub sofa
and watched me dance
I feel we are mirrors
Reflecting each other’s light
Watching the other
Bounce
Don’t tell me I always leave
I don’t want to hear it
In the darkest night I feel it
Your pain
Our broken heart 80s necklace
Connectivity
Looking glass dreams
I push my finger
through reflective syrup
I want you to picture me now
Junior high school French class
Alone at the desk
We haven’t met yet
Mon cher, Vous me manquez
You are the bright light that never goes out
Never flickers
Never wanes
Years and galaxies and troubadours carrying microfiche
Images of our waking lives when apart
I’ll read up
Yes, our mothers will be friends
What a strange thing to say
But I adore it
Like the night we danced in your kitchen
Sudden, sporadic
You put on 1930s music in 2017
And I felt how much you
Care
Time doesn’t exist, Cher Onze
But ghosts do.
