Pointless Questions: An Inordinate Amount

If I lay here in this empty room
would I have the chance to feel a piece of you?
If I lay with my arms spread wide
would you be able to fall into them again?
If I pretend, just for one moment
that this all ends like it does in the movies
Would my lie forcibly become the truth?

If I hope against all hope
And I wish amongst all stars
Can I pray to every God in existence
For the restoration of a life that was ours?

If I convince you that I am truly sorry
does it erase all the broken promises?
If I call bluff on your denials
would you own the mistakes you've made?
If you convinced me of your sincerity
and I believed the words flowing from your lips
Would it be any different the second time around?

If I should bet against all odds
If I were to take your word as good
Toss away all the progress that I've made
for one more taste of you...

Of course I would

Author's Note
An old piece I discovered from a different time and mindset. Knowing someone is poison and begging for every drop of it. It's important to know your past so you can guide your future.
