life , a pack of cards
our lives, random cards
placed into the palms
of our hands
some accept gratefully
allowing them to simply sit
and linger
happy with their jack
queen, king, or ace
their life is good
high up in the ranks of fairness
sunshine has landed in their laps
no problems, struggles, or deep pain
all runs smoothly, easily
the card sticks continuously
and these people
the ones with the good luck
never understand the lives
of those with a card number five
or below
the feel of such an unlucky hand
with a aching and wanting fingertip
how can they comprehend unfair lives
those which tend to stick for years upon years
why are they the ones with the jack
queen, king or high ace
why not me, why not you
the placing of a card
has nothing to do with you
your kindness is insignificant
your good nature
the dealer isn't thinking of you
when he deals the cards
he doesn't know you
the cards are served place down
in front of the players waiting hands
everyone hopes for the best
expectations disappointed
expectations exceeded or met
some scowl, frown
whilst others grin to the rooftops
the random fairness, the unfairness of life
some win, some lose
your of no importance to life
the dealer in the card game room

that is, sadly, the random acts of life

a lot of my life has been very unfair, and i guess i question why some people get the lucky hand and some get the unlucky one. life seems so drastically unfair and i always question why not me, why have i never been the one with the lucky card

hello kexby , thankyou for taking the time to read and comment. yes, some people are incredibly lucky , its strange , some people get so much of a good deal in life .. it makes you wander, why am i getting a bad and unlucky card

i wander why that is then .. ive often thought of myself as a very kind and caring person , yet all life throws me is problems and pain lol it certaInly does not make me feel lucky in life. they say good people deserve good things, most of the time i dont feel im allowed anything. yet there are people out there who are either '' not as nice '' yet they have more lol, baffling..

I know exactly what your saying I know a few people that are far from deserving but they have it all I think nice people come last but that’s nit going to change who I am. 😊

i'm not so sure that i agree with that, but who knows.. i guess if we think of it like that, if we get a bad hand , we end up feeling like we are being punished for something in a past life, and thats certainly a harsh feeling to deal with . t
