I Am Only Two

Mommy I have some things to say to you.
Just a few reminders.
For when you get frusterated with me,
Remember I still have a lot of learning left to do.
I am only two.

Sometimes I notice you get angry,
When I do wrong or act a certain way.
Instead of getting upset with me,
Please remember to take the time to talk to me,
Instead of just taking items away.
At my age it is important for you to explain.
I am only two.
Mommy I am still learning each day.

Please also remember to notice when I do good things,
Even on our toughest days.
I am only two,
And positive reinforcement is crucial for my age.

I know sometimes I make you frusterated
I make you feel overwhelmed
Just remember how you act, what you say, or what you do
I soon will too.
So don't do or say anything I couldn't do.
I am only two,
Mommy I learn from you.

One last thing before I go to sleep,
Though we may have a bad day or bad moment,
You are still a great mommy to me.

Just remember I still have learning left to do
I was not born programmed
I am only two.
