Rope Bridges

In this temporary world
passing time
between each kiss,
too long
and it fades
like the trace
of a morning mist.

The dance of prolonged love
- a swaying bridge
weathered by years,
ecstatic sunsets
and the rain of tears.

The boards can be replaced
or the rope knotted tighter,
it could be scrapped altogether
or you could make it much wider.

But I will swing with the breeze
and tempt the instability,
passing time
between each kiss.
