An Eternal Conflict

Dig not up from the contents
of thine own ground;
for this was Cain's offering:
to dig up from the soils
of ones own mind.

In this, Cain thus found desire to spill blood.
He was seated westward at the left hand
surrounded by ravens and goats.

Be that of Abel instead
and tithe the lower mind;
for this was Abel's offering:
to shepherd and offer
his first of flock.

In this, Abel thus found the bread of life.
He was seated eastward at the right hand
surrounded by doves and sheep.

So be it then
the eternal conflict
of men:
earth over heavens - heavens over earth.

In the beginning, God created both
the heavens and the earth:

the higher from the lower;
the Abel from the Cain;
the Eve from the Adam
the two trees;
and a single conscience
with which to choose.
