1940's frisky

hospital gurney

Amish hand crank was a woman

california cattle
waiting for the killing spike through the head

Death mask
encased in glass
on a marble pedestal
checkered floor
flickers by yellow candlelight

glaze
we awoke something in the dark
ancient by definition
deadly by curse

land of milk and honey

spotlight on
robbers
reptiles with bazookas
holding lunch lady's hostage

apparition
gliding across the floor
ships of ghosts
ambient

Cades Cove was a paradise lost
but not forgotten
sharp are the people who live in these woods
run these creeks

3rd grade tire swings
off dirt hill launching pads
my lungs and heart sank as i knew they would

i became the cartoon squiggle rays
beaming from the hand drawn sun
bring me warmth in a picnic basket

i may be old buy i'm young at heart.
