LOVE BY CANDLELIGHT

Ostensibly it's more romantic,
But, before any panic got frantic,
I said, 'Let's make love by candle light.'
To be honest, some bits felt too white.
 I would feel happier in shade
To soften view of what I displayed;
It had been years since I last did mate,
Since then my body had put on weight,
 Things were a little less perky firm
(Page Three Girl pictures would make me squirm).

Since then I'd become a divorced wife,
Was welcoming new man in my life.
We were sufficiently warmed, enough
To dare let go of this clothing stuff.
Apart in the still dark room we stood,
Separately stripped, then we were nudd.
I did not think we would come this far,
Facing my love without pants and bra,
And in return seeing his body,
Made fully available to me.

He agreed, so I kept off the light,
Lit the candle which burned enough bright.
I warmed at the mirror's reflection,
While slow grew the urge for connection.
 Its light was much more gentle on me,
I thought at sight of my nudity.
The blend of shadow and highlight
Told me, "You're still a bit of all right!"
 Feeling empowered I turned around
As his rising breaths grew in their sound.

I gave my 'ready for you' salute,
Showing my full frontal birthday suit.
I stepped towards him, standing right there;
Of middle-aged spread he had his share,
I smiled at him understandingly,
Said, 'I still think you have a good body'.
 With thanks from him, we soon embraced,
Kissed, caressed, got ourselves well placed
For enjoyment of the bedroom fun
As we spent our first night one on one.
