Lovely are those "great distances."  This poem possesses a peculiar quality adjacent to that of children, not simple-minded but innocent while grappling with the weight of Pangaea, whole continents shifting, carrying, disembodying us until, in the end of it all, we are astral beings with perfected comprehension of the body. A body you did not ask for, that is, indubitably, at its core, a concentrated dream of multiplicities and complications like "Our voices in harmonization." This lyric seems less concerned with earth or ground and more concerned with the comely, fleshy (non)weight found only in the intersection of the body and the soul. At its worse, Lookawaynow's poem is a discourse about the body while at its best it is a conversation on the closing of hands and the bowing; the idea, deep in all of us, that a person is more than the sum of their parts.
