Word, Words on a Page
Words, words, on a page,
Do you utter them in the dark?
Are they whispers in my ear?
Or is there another, beating your heart?
My heart pounds at every verbiage.
How long will you haunt my nights?
Whisper in my dreams of ever after,
Of Rings. And babies. And forevers.
We said no.
Your words said maybe.
My heart cries love,
My mind says someday.
No. Maybe. Love. Someday.
Just words, words on a page.

Love the external dialogue/internal monologue of this one. Great ending stanza of words accented by periods. Left it lingering inside my head ... even as I write this.

Yeah, true time is what is needed. We both need to be ready for commitment and a strong relationship yet we are both still hurting from previous relationships.
