Shopping Centre Wrexham ,Wales

Is this the future?
I think it is,I hope it is.
A bridge above the streets
and traffic's snarl.
It was coming dark,
about five I think
Christmas lights and shoppers
flashing diodes, woolly hats
Skipping children free of school
plastic bags and secrets.
The circus took our breath away
who had thought of this?
I didn't count
but six stories high,
of flats and apartment homes.
If we live in towns
then this is it.
Terraces with cafes
above the shops and stores
sculptured for a future
I'm sure will be tomorrow.

I love my wood,country lanes
thatch,black and white
and oak beamed bar,
but here in Wrexham
a future we should grasp.
Build this again, again and now
and make of what we can.
