[ Valentines 2018 ] Lasting Impressions
Names hearted
carved into a tree---
a declaration of Love ...
until bark is shed;
hardly an eternity
So, I suggest
we instead
do it
in wet cement
---perhaps a sidewalk
under construction
in the bustling city
for all to bear witness
trafficking in rushed hours
slowing the fuck down
and enjoying the moment
Our perfect shaped Hearts
preserved in the concrete
---what a lasting impression

I've never told you this, but I have a collection of photograhs featuring sidewalk graffiti. It's as fascinating to me as cemeterys. There's a lingering energy encapsulated in stone that speaks without a sound, except a vibration only the Spirit can feel.
Poems are like that too. They house the vibration of the moment they're written forever. Those of the same frequency resonate, even centuries after the poet's death.

And I've heard theories of rock such as limestone being capable of recording the energy of events and people like VCRs.
