Wounded bird
Brought down in flight
you'll never be the same
we were warm under white sheets
and 3 blankets
she laid her head on my chest
comfortable
wearing a purple long john shirt
stitched with a thousand starflowers
my mind swept me to Oregon's burning hands
not like cold feet
Asheville's printmakers
not playing bike polo
we fell asleep as friends
awoke together lovers
under covers
i caught everything i ever wanted
or did i ?
