The Goddess Blesses

a lone flower
sung in a garden
her song so sweet
it charmed the humans

they kept her well tended
the weeds of discontent
were banished
lest they choke
this enchanted blossom

she sings songs of wisdom
riddles to some
who lack the key to knowledge

she's from a far away place
blown on a mighty wind
when she was but a seedling

her songs laced with truth
it hurts the hearts of those
on the path of destruction

brambles of hate
murdered her siblings
bringers of hope
now withered in the garden

she sings quietly now
to stay off the radar of the destroyer
who would send poison ivy
into this secret oasis

he can't place her location
her voice echos off the canyons
with no hint
of where she's really planted

songs of the Goddess
her glorious mother
who blesses all nature
asking it care for the mortals

so stoically they guard
giving sanctuary to all who enter
her grounds sacred

if you happen to hear
this enchanted bloom
perhaps on a retreat into the natural
say blessings over her

let her know she is heard
& above all cherished
