The White Light
The White Light
As I lay on my death bed I can see
My past stretched out in front of me
Regrets for what I have and have not done
Making up what I have become
I am like Humpty Dumpty was back then
To many pieces gone to put back together again
Unwashed facets of fragmented sorrows
Here today and quickly gone tomorrow
It is said tomorrow is just another day
But I do not even want to be here today
That bright white light keeps beckoning me
I try to resist it but it is not easy
As I lay on my death bed I can see
My past stretched out in front of me
Regrets for what I have and have not done
Making up what I have become
I am like Humpty Dumpty was back then
To many pieces gone to put back together again
Unwashed facets of fragmented sorrows
Here today and quickly gone tomorrow
It is said tomorrow is just another day
But I do not even want to be here today
That bright white light keeps beckoning me
I try to resist it but it is not easy
