Black Butterfly

Black Butterfly

I wake up in the morning
on the wrong side of the bed.
I look into your eyes and see the dread.
What a disappointment are you.
I hate myself, I hate the day,
Sleeping pills make it a lot more painful.
Stumble through the day, never a smile,
what a disappointment are you.
Smoking weed doesn’t help you relax.
It makes you insane, drives you to kill.
Why do I put up with all your shit?
Why do I refuse to help myself?
Every day is such a drag.
Every day is endless hell.
Down another 40, down another shot,
Now I’m out of control.
I look in the mirror to spite myself.
All I see staring back is my black butterfly.
Rage boils, I force a smile,
the black butterfly is poised to strike.
