I Respect Her
Ya see respect to me is when i respect you
For the way you carry your self
You ain’t out here tryna be the most prettiest on the shelf
Instead you’re out here being miss independent not asking for help
And I like that,
I like how you know you’re pretty and you know your worth
You’ve got ya head screwed on and you wanna go to work
See that works, because for me to respect you
I wanna see you get everything you deserve
I wanna look at you and be able to learn
And earn your trust before it blooms into love
See...when I met you, seeing you do your own ting
Made me wanna become a better man
Before I started chasing these paper plans
I wanted to hold your hand and feel more of a man because,
I respect you
Okay we’ve made mistakes and I’ve seen tears run down your face
And sometimes you feel outta place whether it’s because of your gender or race
But...don’t let that shit get in the way
Don’t let that shit make you feel afraid to follow your dreams
Don’t let that shit make you feel scared to follow your heart
And please please, don’t let that shit give you anxiety
Because in the end, I know it’ll all plan out
And I know, that there’s gonna be guys ya mad about
But, all I’m tryna say is...if he doesn’t respect you...
Then he doesn’t deserve the house
He doesn’t deserve the ring
Because he’s gonna break ya crown
And break you down
Leaving you to scream out, men are trash
You’re then gonna sit there, and feel like crap
Crying to me on the phone, since you don’t wanna be alone
Il probably listen to you moan and then we’ll laugh and giggle
And...in the end, it’s because...
Well I respect you
Now I see why you carry ya self so proud and prestige
Not because you’re a strong beautiful woman but
Because you’ve been through hardships and that’s what us guys don’t see
Even though most you girls tell us like 4 times a week
We’re just blind, some of us don’t deserve to be this man kind
So I take that blame even though I’m just tryna get ya name since
I respect you and I’m not tryna cause you pain
I just think that you and I are the same
Both on the same page on the same lane so
When you hear this, just know I respect you
And even though I’m hardly around, just still know that...you’re the girl I’m on about
Bless.
