This Quiet Life

In a world
vying for attention
and cold, loveless affection
I like leading life in a tranquil way
bereft of constant buzzing noises
a cacophony of chaos
that tries to steal precious moments
of my day to day
how can I live life
when I’m not?
how do I enjoy peace
when I am boy, interrupted
I refuse shackles of the sheep
and the low/high tech slaves
or to inherit your sense of worth
it is worthless
I do not need your followers
the lotus eaters that live in hamster wheels
or the likes of the unlikable
250 people like this
I will not not care
and subscribe to your info tapes
of cynicism and depressive states
and pity parties that last a lifetime
In all of my fighting, and through
much suffering and triumph
I came to a beautiful moment
when I realized I was finally just happy
It came, unbidden, when I ceased trying
to bring it about on my own silly effort
when I cut out the noise and chatter
and realized that our story is an evolving
art installation, unfolding
and we partake in a gallery showing, me!
showing you aspects and details of existing
that you only forgot was what made it all so bearable
