Breakfast

Since breakfasts can be such simple repasts:
A linen cloth assists one, expressly,
To create atmosphere where any fast
Is something to dispense with - have some tea?

I'll serve it from the pot - Chinoiserie
Will add a certain something to the room;
And make you smile to think, with certainty,
That I pull out the stops to dispel gloom;

I start to dance, gingerly, to your tune;
It's an alluring sound that intimates
A blush at chimes an hour before noon;
We'll clear the table - all those china plates...

Can sit and soak, for even heaven waits,
While we wander upstairs: my face can't mask
Its wanton look, excluding all debates:
Our breakfasts can be such simple repasts...
