Plumes from a distance

warm orange juice sunrise
sitting
over distant grassy cattle fed hillsides
covered in biting Tennessee dewdrops
staring past wooden split rail fencing

pool chlorine mountain tops
i lost myself in the maze of grey fog
and never descend this rising range

slate.
silver..
gainsboro...

spruce fir canopy called me home
autumn
turning leaves fractal yellow
left me lost in my own beating heart

------------------------------------------------------------------

looking past farm country to the great smoky mountains range
losing my mind in the shades of grey, the spruce,i'd sell it all to have the happiness i pretend  in my mind.
