Everyone one but herself

“You're beautiful.” He whispered, his words drifting through every strand of her hair and into her ears.
“No I'm not.” The girl shook her head and shuddered, refusing to let herself believe the simple words. This struck him. How could someone so beautiful feel that she is anything but? He wondered desperately.
Angered by her response he held her tight and told her forcefully, “you can do one of two things. You can spend your life believing you are beautiful, because you are. Or, you can sit there denying compliments and feeling miserable. Which life do you want to lead?”
A single tear rolled down the beautiful girls face, and a whisper echoed, “the first.”
“I know... but you have to start trying to believe it. Because you are beautiful.”
They stood still under the stars, holding each other. Even crying, she was beautiful, and nobody in the world, but herself, could believe otherwise.
