Wrinkles
I've been blind my entire life.
I've never seen the sunset
or the sunrise,
I've never seen the
glimmering night sky or
a rainbow fade into
the horizon.
I've never seen how my
mother's lips move when
she says she loves me,
or how the skin under
her eyes wrinkles a little
when she smiles.
I've never seen anything
and yet I feel like these
are the only things
I'd ever want to see.
I've never seen the sunset
or the sunrise,
I've never seen the
glimmering night sky or
a rainbow fade into
the horizon.
I've never seen how my
mother's lips move when
she says she loves me,
or how the skin under
her eyes wrinkles a little
when she smiles.
I've never seen anything
and yet I feel like these
are the only things
I'd ever want to see.
