Daydream

My daydream is your reality
While you take it for granted, it's my fantasy
I'm getting tired of saying prayers on padded knees
Praying that what you have could be granted me
I'm not talking 'bout material things, I'm not envious
I'm not making wishes 'cause I'm penniless
I don't wanna be the wealthiest
I just don't wanna be the emptiest, or know this emptiness

I've got a hunger to be more than a number
To arise from my slumber, be productive and conjure
Up something to bring some pride to my mother
You know I love her, but that's only half the story my brother
I've got so many voids in me that it's annoying me
From many unfulfilled boyish dreams
And fantasies, that's how disappointment breeds
And then it feeds your mind's mind, and the voices speak
And make you feel like a dead dog, dishing sentences
And you become your biggest nemesis
Your daydreams serve as your favourite sedatives
You're taken to a distant place, where there's never sin
And no shortcomings, 'cause you're perfect
Enjoying Earth's bliss, and your girl's kiss
Finally learning how to write happy verses
But the present reality's this accursedness
