the price... we pay for peace
peace:
the one thing
all souls seek
some overtly
some covertly
peace
the certainty
peace
the assurance
that what you sought
was attained
for some
the answer
to their prayers
for some
slaying of their
demon
for some
assailing of
their enemy
for many
the assurance
that their near ones
won't go hungry
or without
We all pay
each day
every day
the price
for peace
some pay
with sweat
some pay
with blood
many
pay with tears
and too many
pay with all of the above
it is not love
that you really seek
it is the peace
your heart
is after
the peace
in knowing
what you seek
was
and
is
seeking you
the certainty
of togetherness
Some unfortunate souls
pay the ultimate price
and the worst part
of that transaction is
that we'll never know
was it truly worth it?

A beautifully written poem, dear Poet,
for it encompasses the struggle to achieve
a feeling which resides differently within
each of us.
"Some unfortunate souls
pay the ultimate price
and the worst part
of that transaction is
that we'll never know
was it truly worth it?"
These words ring truth,
and conjure many conflicting
perspectives.
But, I must believe it is the ultimate
sacrifice, To place any lesser worth would
be tantamount to having no values at all.
The effect, never in doubt, for the earned RL inclusion.
