Wound tight
a cannon ready to ignite
wedged by words
hoping every one's just right
trapped and tongue-tied
but these feelings never lie

solitude by societal ineptitude
insides reside deep and hide
too shy to try
I shall cover up and cry
shielded from shadows of the moon

but sweet whispers stream
out of a thankful soul
sending smiles straight
to a nervous heart
and actions to part

good morning hellos
give a peek past
an open door
outstretched arms
protect a paradise of
paths not yet taken

words may lie
when actions subside
but the true meaning
of love
remains hushed
hidden from those who speak
