A Flame

A Flame…

You often stir in sensations that I can no longer trust,
A hunger inside that communicates, I must
And how it feels that my body favors you

It’s mind-boggling, this connection
I’m not sure of where or how we link,
But the energy between us is on fire,
For my desire for you is a flame,
Sometimes it flickers faint, and sometimes it’s an inferno
And often, the flame within continues to burn

I’m not great at figuring out scientific matters,
But this right here is soulful,
An enigma within my spine that carries thoughts of you on my mind
And anytime I want to stop…
I just can’t
No one has ever stirred something this perplex within me
A mystery that I yearn to learn…
Or is it a mere fantasy?

Somehow I’ve lost touch with what isn’t and what is,
Discovering a new feeling, it’s hard to attach to it a name
Or even a meaning… to something you can’t explain
All I know is something about you wakes up all the senses within me
For at times it feels you have the master controller,
And that you have programmed my sensual wires to respond to only you,
Even still you remain a shadow…
A mysterious image that I downsize in my head
Because after all, I don’t know what any of this means
I’ve never experienced this before

You feed me something I try to nurture,
Often in the past, it took on abandonment,
Unsure of the ripples you caused, how they create puddles
But when I try to dive in… they become deeper than appearance
No longer a mirage… the reality sinks in
That all things cannot simply be explained
And that’s fine for matters that are unrelated to my heart,
But this pull you have on me, it needs a name
Or at least some kind of clarity within the brain
But for now…
I simply will call it a flame
