Prez = Lester Young (1909-1959), affectionately known as the President of the Tenor Saxophone......
Hawk = Coleman Hawkins (1904-1968), also affectionately known as "Bean" & Father of the Tenor Saxophone.
Trane = John Coltrane (1926-1967)....generally considered one of the most innovative jazz artists ever....on tenor & soprano saxes......
Generally all are considered deep inspirations to those of us who practice the Art of Saxophonistry

What do 'they' want? They be dead. They don'want anything. Their legacies inspire those of us who aspire to that artform, like whatever poets you relate to might inspire you.

Love those dude's legacies too. What we call their time-frame is pretty immaterial to their significance. Bless ye, buddy.
