Never Growing Up
you can call me the latest casualty
of a man who’s stuck in his youth
I’m still saying fuck the nation
drinking myself senseless to rock music
this feeling of loneliness never left
I still hate my fucking parents
they never cared for me
least I can say
I got further than they ever did
in a dead end class one day
too a dead end job the next
always knew I was destined for failure
just didn’t care when I was younger
forced to live in adulthood now
should of shot myself in the head
now I’m faced with daily hypocrisy
from fake relationships too fake friends
makes me sick to see it
everyone’s never wrong
just me, apparently
I thought I would care one day
forgive my family for their sins
made more mature friends
least thrive to be something more
but no
I’m just a loser
no matter how far I think I get
feels like the whole world got together
said stay away from that guy
he’s the boy who never grew up
just a pathetic mess
he should of disappeared long ago
I may not have dreamed to be this way
but I have something most don’t
when I work at my dead end job
I give more than anyone else
when I smile
it’s never forced
my ideas are my own
these words that come out of my mouth
are unfiltered
and if nothing else
I have a lady that I can call my forever
guess never growing up has it’s perks
even if I can’t always see them
