Suboxone slumber

We stood in dark heavy coats
as weapons
behind faded white goodwill donation buildings
beneath silent highway underpasses

next to huge blue metal recycle bins
frigid
below 20 degrees cold
past 10 pm that evening

throwing grey landscaping rocks
in the frozen creek bed
hid behind shallow bushes
in the middle of downtown's old city

sailing boulders through tree branch limbs
crashing
down Hiroshima thin ice
arms heaving

were Enola gays dropping atomic bombs
mushroom clouds of water
splashing
debris of ice scatter

exploding devastation
shock waves
but no melted skin this time
sending dust

black rain from fallout
addiction to destruction
dissolving this pill of a life
melt me down and inject

who knew recycling could be this fun
