Understanding

     
You give me a reason to forgive.      
     
You give me a heart that knows no distance as you lay down your armour right before me, knowing that I’ve always hoped your heart would recognise me, as your own.    
     
We have so much love & light to douse upon one another yet we fail to employ the relevant strategies to bring us closer together, until you’re lodged in the depths of me and my ragged shallow breath is the only thing that stands between us.    
     
Between my pride and your stubbornness, we both give, cherish and hope to be with one another as lovers become, anew.    
     
Passion & desire takes precedence over pride and stubbornness as your soul seeks mine to merge upon to enable us to grow, together.    
     
Just as a flower needs the heat of the sun, the heat that’s generated between us is the flame that keeps us tethered to one another’s heart & soul.    
     
Love, enables us to grow as we experience & fathom the concept of understanding, patience and inner growth, to evolve as one.      
     
You’ve become my reason for being as you project your love onto me, and I acknowledge our growth spurts in silence, and the pain that comes with distance, as touch is denied.    
     
You’ve touched & tasted me a million times during the twilight hours, and in dreams that leave me reeling and restless for more of you all over me, in the stark light of day.    
   
And still, I’m trying to understand what that means as you recognise the growth within your self that compels you to hope, for more love & light.
