Michele... Five Years On

Michele, my friend, the best I had,
She made me happy when I felt sad.
When I would cry, she made me laugh,
When I felt lost she chose my path.

So many good times we shared back then,
Like Barcelona, when you were the hen.
The Norfolk Broads spent on that boat,
The times we feared it mightn't float!

Then finally in November, after all that talk,
The ultimate dream - we went to New York!
We spent our time shopping, seeing the sights,
Then Hurricane Sandy gave us a fright!

Memories so precious and treasured, kept close;
Memories of the times we loved the most.
Memories of the celebrations that we shared,
Feel so empty now you're not there.
But our pain will ease and our tears will dry,
One day we'll remember without having a cry.

And as you sit with the angels up above,
Take with you our thanks and all of our love. x

'Michele, time has passed without you;
And the pain remains the same.
They say time's a healer but I don't know why,
As I feel sadder now... five years on.'
