REST IN PEACE

It has been over a year
And still I stand at your grave
Even now I hear the wolves
Chasing away the past

It seems everyone I have ever loved
Has left me abandoned within my storm
If only you could hear my voice from beyond
Would you take me home with you?

The whiskey chases the ghosts
To linger outside the door
I keep the hearth cold for you
To find your way back here

It seems every time I place roses
I can’t help but to drown them in tears
There is no way that I can ever move on
From your arms that kept me safe

I still set the table for you
And toast to your memory
Can you ever forgive me
For not letting you rest in peace?
Your empty seat growing cold
And frost winters the fire
Can you ever forgive me
For not letting you rest in peace?

It seems every time I place roses
I can’t help but to drown them in tears
There is no way that I can ever move on
From your arms that kept me safe

It seems everyone I have ever loved
Has left me abandoned within my storm
If only you could hear my voice from beyond
Would you take me home with you?
