WAKING NAKED
Here I am, in all my glory,
About to write today's story.
As Adam was when world began,
I greet the day a naked man,
Offer all I am, have to give,
To He through whom I move and live.
Humanly alone, not lonely,
Presented, washed, His eyes only
See the entire and naked truth
Of me in early morning's youth
Before I judiciously dress
And arm for the day's busy-ness,
Only for clothes to cast away
When I am home at end of day.
About to write today's story.

Offer all I am, have to give,
To He through whom I move and live.
Humanly alone, not lonely,
Presented, washed, His eyes only
See the entire and naked truth
Of me in early morning's youth
Before I judiciously dress
And arm for the day's busy-ness,
Only for clothes to cast away
When I am home at end of day.
