Namaste
I was weary and hopeless
Contemplating the End ;
But for you my dear friend
I will shake and bend
I will break my constructs
As you have held my hand
Through moonlit nights
Tears you’ve helped me cry
So I will take a stand
You may not be here
But your spirit is fierce
I will never forget you
I will live on
Even after you’re gone
Singing your battle song
The desire to repay
Your selfless support
What can I do or say
To express my gratitude?
Might go without saying
WWJD? Wait wait…
Who are we fooling
You aren’t a Saint
Just another human being
Moving others with truth-saying
So may I reflect your image
Inspiring a whole community
I honor the Light in you
That you’ve reflected from within me
I will share compassioned Truth
With all who are in need
I will empathize and encourage
Not asking for anything returned
I will rise to my full potential
Never quit chasing my Dreams
I will learn from my regrets
And grow in understanding
Most judgements we pass upon ourselves
Are actually worth forgiving
Now your sentiment has crystalized
Within my psyche; archetype
Image of a burly Scottish Bear
With due respect and labels aside
You’ve shared the concern of a Father
Outrageous humor of a crazed Uncle
Held my hand just like a big Brother
You’ve been the most sincere Friend
The Hero, the Martyr
Valiant and strong Protector
Immortalized in my Mind's Eye
Highland Warrior by my side
Human Spirit idolized
I bow my Heart to You
