Image for the poem STRANDED

STRANDED

A desire awoke
It is revealed to me
Through learned imagery
For I am stranded here
With no escape, I fear

A wave invoked
In my personal sea
A ghost soliloquy
For I am stranded here
There are no others here

A word I spoke
To my last of kin, bare
Another vacant stare
For I am stranded there
A sleeve of health I wear

The years I've left
A half-conscious reprieve
Their hope is mine to grieve
For I am stranded here
And I will never leave
